Dear Westmount Families and Community,
Our grade 4 class, Portable 2, has made some outdoor libraries for Westmount’s playground. We made 4 of them so we can have a lot of options for books. We built these so students can have a passive play area at break and also read in the summer when our school library is closed.
We will need your help if our Little Libraries are going to successful. First of all students will need books in order to read. When a book is borrowed return it to the outdoor library so the next person can read it. Little libraries also help create a closer community. It is important because neighbours and people will come in and check it out! The libraries will also help our brains. If you read for 40 minutes your brain grows.
Lastly, if you want to volunteer to help take care of the libraries please contact our teacher Mr. D at scott_dickie@wrdsb.ca.
Sincerely,
Mr. Dickie’s Class P2 Westmount Public School
