For our returning students – welcome back! We can’t wait to hear about your summer. To our new parents, families and caregivers joining us for the first time, welcome to the neighbourhood! We’re so glad to have you join our school community.

First Day of School Details

  • First Day of School: Tuesday, September 8, 2026
  • Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
  • Arrival Location: Our staff will greet students in grades 1-6 at the back of the school and kindergarten students at the front of the school. Chairs will be labeled by class code in both locations and homeroom teachers stand at their class locations. Additional staff in orange vests will have class lists to help your child find their class and teacher.

Finding Your Child’s Homeroom Teacher

Parents, families and caregivers who would like to find out their child’s classroom assignment have two options for accessing this information:

  • At home on School-Day starting on September 7, 2026
  • With the assistance of staff on the first day of school. Please look for staff with orange vests.

To protect the privacy and personal information of staff and students, class lists will not be posted publicly on outside school windows or doors.

Please note: Class lists are subject to changes up until the morning of the first day of school.

How to Check on School-Day

  • Step 1: Log into your School-Day account.
  • Step 2: Look at the blue menu on the left-hand side and click on “Schools and Groups.”
  • Step 3: Click on “Your Classes.” Here, you will see the classes and groups your child is linked to for the upcoming year. Your child’s homeroom name will appear in this format:

Questions About Class Placement

Please call the school on Wednesday, September 9th if you wish to discuss your child’s class placement. Class placement questions will be addressed beginning Wednesday, September 9th.

Kindergarten Information

Families with children in kindergarten will receive additional information in email sent from your child(ren)’s teacher on Monday, September 7th. This communication will help prepare you for the first day of school.

Meet the Team

You are invited to meet your child’s educators and see their learning spaces on:

  • Wednesday, September 9th
  • 6:00 p.m. – 7:30p.m.

This is an opportunity to briefly meet your child’s teachers. Please arrange a private meeting with the teacher to share specific learning questions or concerns. Cookies and Juice are generously donated by Westmount School Council and will be available at the front doors.
